Adoptions

Please fill out this Adoption Application and submit it. The form will be carefully reviewed by an adoption counsellor. We try to get applications reviewed as quickly as possible. If we have problems contacting your references, this will delay the process. Most disapprovals result either from a negative veterinary reference, a "no pets" policy by landlords, or a difference in philosophy regarding the treatment of animals.

Once this application is approved, you can arrange to pick up your new pet. You will receive a copy of the pets health record and a packet of information put together especially for you and your new pet by one of our volunteers.

* St. Francis Society is a privately owned, all volunteer organization. It is our responsibility to find permanent loving homes for all the animals under our care. We will be happy to work with you to choose an animal that suits your wants and lifestyle; however we DO have adoption guidelines and may deny an adoption we feel is unsuitable. Our volunteers have the right to deny any adoption based on their own judgment.

  • My story: Hi there...my name is Libby! I am 2 years old and about 60 lbs. I was saved on the day I was supposed to be euthanized...and all because I became aggressive to the shelter staff...after my former family left me at the shelter because their landlord said I grew too big to live with them. I wasn't really aggressive...just really, really scared out there! I wouldn't let anyone come near me...and in fact fought them the whole time they were trying to release me to my new foster mommy. She got me to her house and calmed me down with some chicken nuggets and lots of love! Even when I am laying at her feet...I am touching her with my paw or laying my head on her foot. I will always be right by your side! I like to sleep in bed right next to you too and I cuddle! I sit and shake, am crate and house trained too! Love to play outside w/the other pups! So if you are looking for a big playful pup and a loving companion...then I am the girl for you!
